In 2009, Ryan participated in the first season of “The Voice”, where he impressed audiences with his solid vocal skills and outstanding stage presence, ultimately placing 5th and officially launching his music career. He earned the nickname “Captain Wai Wong” from the show.
In 2010, he formed the popular boy band “Super 4” alongside Auston Lam, Alfred Hui, and Victor Chen. The group released hit songs such as “Supervoice” and won multiple awards, including the “TVB8 Mandarin Music on Demand Awards Presentation” – Best Newcomer Gold award. Ryan also ventured into acting, starring in TV dramas and stage plays while performing theme songs for various TVB series, including drama “When Lanes Merge” and “The other Truth”. Despite his success in the entertainment industry, Ryan temporarily stepped away from music to pursue a career as an entrepreneur. However, his unwavering passion for music led him to establish his own production company, organizing various concerts and live performances. In recent years, he has made a strong return to the stage, hosting multiple solo concerts such as “Rebirth Concert”, “Recover Concert”, and “Relaxing Concert”.
In 2023, he competed in “Midlife, Sing & Shine 2”, where he showcased his deep musical foundation, earning widespread acclaim from both judges and audiences. He successfully reached the Top 8, further proving his talent and dedication.
